Evansville, Indiana – December 30, 2011
The Evansville Police Department investigated an accident with injuries involving seven vehicles at 12:03 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Indiana State Route 62 and Wabash Avenue. Danny Likens, 59, was driving westbound on Indiana 62 when his 2003 Cadillac went through a funeral procession.
A total of seven cars were involved in the accident, causing multiple injuries. Several drivers and passengers complained of neck pain as a result of the incident. Robert Larkin, 65, and his passenger, Patricia Larkin, 64, were int he first vehicle hit by Mr. Likens and both complained of neck pain.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2008 more than 2.3 million reported intersection-related crashes, resulted in more than 7,770 fatalities and approximately 733,000 injuries.
