Richmond, Indiana — January 30, 2012
Dillon Crail, 18, was charged with attempted theft and leaving the scene of an accident after he allegedly fled the scene of an accident caused Monday. It is not known if there were any injuries involved with this accident.
Mr. Crail was involved in the accident at 2:39 p.m. Monday, but there were no further details other than that he left the scene. The Richmond Police Department continues to investigate the matter. The location of the accident was not disclosed.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 1.13 fatalities occurred for every 100 million miles of travel in 2009. The rate in 1966 was 5.5 deaths per 100 million miles.
