Fort Wayne, Indiana — December 31, 2011

The Fort Wayne Police Department filed a report of an accident with injury that occurred at the intersection of Maumee Avenue and E. Washington Boulevard. The accident occurred at 6:40 p.m. and resulted when Gary Ware, 59, and Wayne Reed, 33, collided.

An outside witness stated that Mr. Ware was headed westbound on Washington Boulevard in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix when he struck Mr. Reed’s 2001 Chevrolet pickup. Mr. Reed was attempting to turn left off of Washington Boulevard.

Mr. Ware was taken to Parkview Hospital to receive treatment for neck pain.

According to the National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, driver error is responsible for more than 90 percent of serious traffic accidents.
