Fort Wayne, Indiana — December 31, 2011
The Fort Wayne Police Department filed a report of an accident with injury at St. Joseph Center Road and Maplecrest Road on Saturday at 7:02 p.m. Four different people were injured in a collision between three cars.
Jenna Neumann, 23, was traveling westbound on St. Joe Center Road when her 2001 Subaru Forrester was struck the 2007 Acura of Christopher Acosta, 29. A third vehicle, a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Cynthia Robertson, 47, was struck by Mr. Acosta’s vehicle in the accident. Both Mr. Acosta and Ms. Robertson’s vehicles were stopped at the time of the accident.
Mr. Acosta complained of neck pain, while Ms. Neumann had a complaint of elbow and lower arm pain.
Kristin Acosta, 28, and Angelica Acosta, 36, also had minor injuries in Mr. Acosta’s vehicle. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
According to the National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, driver error is responsible for more than 90 percent of serious traffic accidents.
