Darmstadt, Indiana – June 21, 2011

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office reports that a rear-end crash took place on Tuesday in Darmstadt, and it left three with injuries.

The location of the wreck was at the crossing of U.S. 41 and Hillsdale Road, where Monica Y. Townsend, 42, of Fort Branch, was operating a southbound Oldsmobile Intrigue. Her vehicle was on U.S. 41 and approaching Hillsdale Road when it went into the back of a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Gregory A. Cravens, 48, of Evansville.

According to witnesses, the vehicle of Ms. Townsend had been moving erratically before the crash. Reports indicate that she was on prescription medication, and this may have been a factor.

Both Mr. Cravens and his passenger—Matthew M. Claycomb, 48—went to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of pain in their backs. Ms. Townsend was transported to Deaconness Hospital, and she has not been cited for causing the wreck.
