Plymouth, Indiana – A car accident in the 4600 block of Quince Road in Plymouth, Indiana, required that two North Liberty men be airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with serious injuries. The crash occurred on Quince Road just south of 4B Road.

Travis Bennett, 22, of Plymouth, was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Dalton Wendt, 19, of North Liberty. The force of the collision caused the Wendt vehicle to skid off of the roadway and into a tree. Mr. Wendt and his passenger, Jeffrey Lewis II, were both trapped inside the vehicle.

Once emergency personnel arrived and were able to remove Wendt and Lewis, they were airlifted to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. It was not reported whether Bennett sustained injured in the accident.

Police said the accident remains under investigation, but they believe excessive speed and alcohol were likely factors in the crash.
