Ralph White rudely awakened by car landing on apartment roof
Noisy neighbors are bad enough, but there isn’t much worse in the way of rude awakenings than a car crashing onto the roof of your apartment. That’s what happened to Ralph White early Wednesday morning.
Benjamin Tucker, 26, stole a car from a Fresno home early January 4. Shortly after stealing the car Mr. Tucker was on the run from the Fresno Police Department when he lost control of the stolen car on a curve. He crashed into landscaping rocks which caused him to go airborne.
About 1 a.m. the car came crashing onto the roof on Ralph White’s apartment. Mr. White and his family woke up to the car crashing onto their apartment and debris began to fall and smoke began to billow. Mr. White and his family left their apartment, and Mr. White went to a neighbor’s house to notify the police.
Mr. Tucker didn’t stop there. He jumped from the roof of the apartment, breaking his leg. He ran about a quarter of a mile where he was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and running from an officer.
Somehow the crying baby next door doesn’t seem as loud anymore.
