Police say two motorists died in a wrong-way head-on collision in Tustin Thursday night.

According to the Tustin Police Department, an unidentified female motorist was traveling southbound on northbound Jamboree Avenue, near its intersection with Edinger Avenue, around 10:45 p.m. when she collided head-on with a vehicle driven by an unidentified male motorist.

Both motorists died at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

Officers are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of this incident.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, wrong-way drivers are involved in 1.5 percent of all fatal crashes.

UPDATE: The two motorists have been identified as 25-year-old Kaelyn Fergeson of Rancho Santa Margarita and 29-year-old Kenneth Olson, Jr. of Corona.
