Three residents were hospitalized after an apartment building fire in Inglewood Thursday morning.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a fire started for unknown reasons in an unknown two-story apartment building around 1:10 a.m.

One resident was hospitalized with serious burns. Two other residents were treated for smoke inhalation. It is not known how many residents were inside the building at the time.

The identities of those involved have not been released.

Officials are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of this incident.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, seventy-nine percent of injuries resulting from residential building fires involved smoke inhalation and thermal burns.
