Los Angeles County, California — July 23, 2012
Police say a motorcyclist was injured by a hit-and-run driver Monday on a Pasadena freeway.
According to troopers with the California Highway Patrol, an unidentified motorist was behind the wheel of a vehicle as it traveled west along Interstate 210. As the car approached Exit 26B (Lake Avenue), around 10:40 a.m., it made contact with a motorcycle.
Rather than stopping to administer aid, the car’s driver fled the scene. Paramedics transported the rider to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment of bone breaks.
No suspect description has been released. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports California has the highest rate of fatal hit-and-run crashes in the country.
