Ridgecrest, California — February 18, 2012

A rear-end collision on U.S. Route 395 left three people injured Saturday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Suzuki was traveling south on U.S. Route 395 when it slowed to turn onto Trona Road. As the Suzuki prepared to turn a silver Honda Civic crashed into the back end of the Suzuki.

Three people were transported to a hospital for medical attention to unknown injuries they suffered as a result of this collision.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the number of fatalities along America’s roadways declined in 2010 for the fifth-straight year. The total number of highway deaths last year was 32,788, down 3 percent over 2009.
