San Bernardino County, California – December 26, 2011
A 60-year-old was struck and killed Monday evening at a San Bernardino County intersection.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, 60-year-old San Bernardino resident Karen L. Henthorn was walking at the intersection of Lynwood Drive East and North Mountain Avenue when she was struck by a 1994 Honda about 6 p.m.
Ms. Henthorn was transported to St. Bernardine Medical Center where she later died.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2008 more than 2.3 million reported intersection-related crashes, resulted in more than 7,770 fatalities and approximately 733,000 injuries.
