El Cajon, California – September 29, 2011
A man from El Cajon was killed Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a trolley.
According to the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System, El Cajon resident Andre D. Zollicoffer was waiting on a platform at the Arnele Avenue station. About 2:30 p.m. he stepped off the platform onto the tracks to see if the trolley was coming. The trolley driver sounded the horn and activated the brakes. Mr. Zollicoffer was subsequently hit.
Mr. Zollicoffer suffered severe head trauma. He was declared dead at the scene.
