Pacific Beach, California – September 25, 2011

A possible drunk driver crashed into the back of a police car injuring the police officer early Sunday morning.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a woman, 21, drove on Garnet Avenue. Near Everts Street she crashed into the back end of a San Diego Police car. The crash occurred about 2 a.m.

The woman is suspected of driving under the influence.

The police officer, whose name has not been released, suffered minor injuries. He was released form the hospital later Sunday.

According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles, 203,866 suspects were arrested on suspicion of DUI in 2007.
