Visalia, California – September 9, 2011
A horse on the highway caused a crash that left at least one motorist with major injuries Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a horse was walking on the Pearl Harbor Survivors Memorial Highway. Just north of Avenue 72 a vehicle struck the horse. The car then crashed through a fence. The horse was then hit by a second vehicle. Animal control was called into retrieve the horse.
At least one motorist involved in the crash was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center for medical attention. The injuries appeared major.
