Big Bear Lake, California – September 1, 2011

A woman from Hesperia was killed when a Jeep failed to stop and collided with her motorcycle Wednesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 60-year-old Big Bear Lake resident Walter Campbell drove a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee north on Greenway Drive. At the intersection with West North Shore Drive Mr. Campbell did not stop at a stop sign and crashed into the side of a 1997 Harley-Davidson driven by 65-year-old Hesperia resident Cheryl Hightower about 7:25 a.m.

Ms. Hightower was declared dead at the scene.
