Police say a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Wednesday afternoon as she attempted to cross a Fresno street.
The Fresno Police Department said the pedestrian, identified only as a woman in her 40s or 50s, was using a crosswalk near the intersection of Home Avenue and Cedar Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. She was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Cedar, south of McKinley, and declared dead at the scene.
The circumstances of the crash remain unknown. Police have not released a description of the driver or suspect vehicle, indicating the crash might not have been a hit and run.
