Napa, California — November 8, 2010
Police say 17-year-old Kristopher John Anderson was killed Saturday evening while skateboarding in Napa.
The Napa Police Department reports that Kristopher, a senior at Valley Oak High School, was riding on Silverado Trail near Highland Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. After the crash, he was discovered lying on the west shoulder of Silverado Trail and Winding Way.
The driver, 29-year-old Benjamin Espinosa, full cooperated with police, remaining at the scene during their investigation. Police shut down traffic along Silverado Trail until roughly 1 .m.
The Napa County Sheriff’s Department pronounced him deat at 9:15 p.m. An autopsy will be performed.
The crash remains under investigation, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
