Concord, California — October 10, 2010

An eight-car crash on Monument Boulevard in Concord Sunday afternoon sent five people the hospital.

The Concord Police Department reports that a Cadillac was traveling east on Monument Boulevard around 3:15 p.m. when the driver struck several cars stopped at a red light at Mohr Lane. Five people — three women, a man and an infant child — were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators struggled to reconstruct the crash because many of the parties involved did not speak English.
