Vallejo, California — October 5, 2010
Six people were injured, two of them critically, in a head-on collision in South Vallejo late Tuesday.
The Vallejo Police Department reports that a Nissan carrying four occupants was traveling south on Fifth Street around 8 p.m. when it struck a northbound Ford Mustang carrying two occupants. The collision caused the Nissan to overturn, pinning one passenger underneath the wreckage. The Vallejo Fire Department said the passenger sustained severe blunt-force trauma and was one of two victims airlifted to John Muir Medical Center.
Two victims were reportedly transported to Sutter Solano Medical Center and another two taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
