Bonsall, California — September 25, 2010
Kelley Fritz, 12, of Riverside, was killed Saturday when the Volkswagen she was riding in lost control along Route 76 near Bonsall and struck another vehicle head-on.
The California Highway Patrol reports that Kelley was traveling east on Route 76 east of Vista Way in a 1956 Volkswagen Beetle around 9:30 p.m. when the driver lost control and struck a westbound Buick Regal.
Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected and Kelley, who was not wearing a seat belt, died approximately 30 minutes later. The drivers of the Volkswagen and the Buick were hospitalized; neither has been identified by police.
