Police say a traveler was injured Tuesday when a cement truck crashed in the North Scottsdale area.

According to troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, an unidentified driver was operating a cement truck along Arizona 51. As the driver passed between Exit 11 (Thunderbird Road) and Exit 10 (Cactus Road), around 11:25 a.m., it crashed for unknown reasons.

Paramedics responded to the scene and treated at least one subject for undisclosed injuries. No names have been released.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2008 more than 2.3 million reported intersection-related crashes, resulted in more than 7,770 fatalities and approximately 733,000 injuries.
